I try very hard not to be a “victim blamer” and do always try to look at all sides of a situation before making an opinion about it. I like to be educated about a situation before I make statements. Am I always right? Nope, not even close and a lot of times my opinions are not popular because I don’t tend to agree with something just because everyone else is doing it. I didn’t win the popularity contest over the Casey Anthony case because I maintained that there just was NOT enough evidence to prove guilty BEYOND A REASONABLE DOUBT. But, this isn’t about Casey – wherever she may be, I hope that she is safe and wish that the idiots who are making death threats and wasting their time crying and pretending to love a little girl that they never met, that they use that energy to help living children. Last week a case was brought to my attention on the BH forum and after reading more about the family dynamics, I am really ticked off and am pointing my accusatory finger at the mother of a murdered child. She goes into the MHP Club – MUST HAVE PEEN. Peen became more important than her child’s safety and I just cannot give this woman a free pass for what happened to her child.
Jeremiah Lee Wright of Thibodaux, La., has confessed to the decapitation murder of his cerebral palsy stricken son, Jori Lirette. Jesslyn Lirette is Jori’s mother and allegedly was kicking Jeremiah out of the house – he was also UNEMPLOYED. Supposedly she works and that’s where she was during the day. He slaughtered his son and left his dismembered head at the end of the driveway so that when she came home, she would see her deceased son and “feel stupid”.
The mother of a wheelchair-bound 7-year-old who was beheaded and dismembered wrote when her son was less than 6 months old that his father — now accused in his killing — wanted him dead because the baby was suffering, court papers show. Read the rest of this entry »

Caylee Anthony has not become the face of missing and murdered children in this country, she has become THE murdered child in this country. The constant coverage of the case makes it seem as if no other child has been kidnapped or murdered since 2008. Everyone seems to have tunnel vision, focused directly on Casey Anthony, and they are intent on making her pay for murdering Caylee. But, according to the American Anthropological Association, more than 200 mothers a year murder their children and three to five children a day are murdered by their parents. ( http://www.ibtimes.com/articles/175093/20110706/casey-anthony-mothers-killing-their-children-casey-anthony-verdict-american-anthropological-associat.htm )
I’m almost positive that of those 200 mothers every year, some are tried and found not guilty. Where is the outrage in those cases that we are seeing in the Casey Anthony case? We haven’t read in the news about any death threats or harassment of the people involved in those cases. What is it that sets Casey Anthony apart from these other mothers that go on trial for murder that she can hold this whole country captive and cause feelings of such hatred? People have chosen to latch on to this case and it’s taken on a life of its own. It’s not about the little girl that was reported missing on July 15, 2008 anymore. It’s about seeing how much hate and rage can be directed at Casey Anthony because the public feels justice has not been served. Caylee’s memory is lost in the midst of it all and those crying for vengeance are too blinded by hate to see it.
The public accuses Casey of being a monster. What do they think they are when they threaten her, harass the people involved in the case and get online raging about what they would do if they came across Casey on the street, all in the name of seeking justice for a murdered child they never knew?
Several years back, a Houston mother was acquitted of murdering her 4-month old son. ( http://abcnews.go.com/US/story?id=92993&page=1 ) I don’t recall any outrage, any 24/7 HLN coverage or the mother going into hiding afterward. I just have to ask: why? Why was there no anger, no outrage, no publicity?
It’s time to give other missing and murdered children the attention they deserve. Caylee is gone and we cannot help her now. If these people are so insistent on speaking for a murdered child, then they need to realize that you don’t honor the memory of a dead child with hate, rage and vengeance. If you want to become a murdered child’s voice and seek justice for her, justice you feel was denied in a courtroom, you take that energy you put into harassing and hating the accused murderer and put it to good use. You can put your time into helping living children. You can bring your efforts to the searches for other missing children. Two hundred mothers a year murder their children. Three to five children a day are murdered by their parents. There are far too many children in danger for everyone to sit around and dwell on a not guilty verdict that we can do nothing about. We cannot save Caylee. But, if we move on from this, perhaps we can save other children.
Katherine “Kate” Phillips is 4-months old and is missing from her Michigan home. Her father, Sean Michael Phillips, is the last known person to see her. He and Kate’s mother, Ariel Courtland, had an argument on the date that Kate went missing – Wednesday, June 29. At at 1:14 p.m. on that day, Courtland called 911 to report her daughter missing. She advised law enforcement that she and Sean Phillips were in his car with Kate. They stopped at her apartment to get a stroller, and when she ran inside to get it, by the time she returned to his car Sean’s vehicle was gone; and with him their 4-month old daughter.
They had been in an argument and police later found Sean at his parents’ home at about 4 p.m. that day. However, Baby Kate was not with him. 21-year-old Phillips was arrested and remains in jail on a kidnapping charge. Police have found the clothes that Baby Kate was reported wearing that day, but they have not found the child. Searches continue in an effort to locate her, but Phillips refuses to give any information regarding the whereabouts of his daughter.
The progress of the investigation has been hampered somewhat by “self-initiated and directed search teams”. Law enforcement personnel have been diverted away to other areas where individuals have located material that is not connected to the investigation. This is why people should stop trying to play CSI and participate in searches that are sanctioned by law enforcement personnel. I know people want to help, but is this really helping find this baby?
Investigators would still like to speak with anyone that saw SEAN MICHAEL PHILLIPS during the hours of 1 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, June 29th, 2011. He was reported to have been seen at the Wendy’s Restaurant and near the Birch Lake Apartments during that time frame. Read the rest of this entry »

Last week has come and gone – the verdict was read and no doubt the bevy of muumuu wearing, unwashed old maids blew their collective ovaries when the Clerk announced NOT GUILTY. They were all so sure that “the bitch would fry!” It’s what they were so sure of for three years! All of those sparkly, animated gifs that will now go to waste! Oh the horror of it all!!! Casey Anthony awaits release from jail, and you would think that people would move on, but no such
thing is happening. Instead, the coverage continues and those who have wasted three years of their lives doing nothing but follow the case are now scratching their heads asking “what now?“ Nancy disGrace continues to bellow her nightly diatribes of which she obviously has no clue. As a former officer of the court she of all people should know that the accused are innocent until proven guilty, but then disGrace would have lower ratings if she banged that drum.
I blame Nancy Grace and the others in the media who are continuing to beat this dead horse. I have seen HORRIBLE things written by people that I once respected, and this case has caused me to reevaluate the friendships I have with others because I simply do not want to be friends with people who are calling for the lynching of another human being just because they didn’t get their way. That is what this boils down to. People did not get the verdict that they wanted, and rather than do something productive to save LIVING children, they are going to beat their heads and wail in the streets because they obviously don’t comprehend our legal system. They would rather show their asses than do something for living children. Why is that? Why not use the anger that they are feeling to do something for the thousands and thousands of underprivileged children who are in violent homes, or who need mentors and the guidance of an adult? To me, this just proves even further that these people do not care about the plight of missing or abused children. It’s easy enough for them to get online with other simple-minded people to feign outrage than to actually get off of their butts and DO something.
There are bellows of mistrial, jury interference, blah blah blah…but at the end of the day – the system WORKED. I am not saying that it’s fair or that Casey is innocent. I am stating the obvious. Our system is based on the presumption of innocence. The Sixth Amendment sets forth rights related to criminal prosecutions. If people would take a look at this and leave their emotions behind, they would realize that the system WORKED. The Sixth Amendment requires juries to be impartial. Impartiality has been interpreted as requiring individual jurors to be unbiased. A juror must show no prejudice for or against something or someone. At voir dire, each side may question potential jurors to determine any bias, and challenge them if the same is found. To those who watched the voir dire process, each potential juror was questioned and out of hundreds 12 jurors and 2 alternates were chosen. Read the rest of this entry »

In the past weeks, the nation has been preoccupied with the Casey Anthony trial and today there are those who are participating in the gnashing of the teeth and pounding of heads because the “justice system failed Caylee”. BLAH BLAH BLAH Woe is me, woe is you, woe for the murdered baby…ad nauseum. Trial groupies and freaks are pissing their pants just for the opportunity to get their faces on camera and belittle the justice system and the Anthony jurors for doing what the citizens of Florida and the community at large asked them to do. Individuals have fought one another for the better place in line just for the opportunity to gawk at the “baby killer” or photos of Caylee’s remains, and they have caused disruptions in the courtroom for the sake of making their own personal mark during what is now known to be the trial of the century.
But 3 weeks ago, while the Casey Anthony circus was in full swing, another alleged baby killer walked away with her life spared. There is yet another dead baby who deserves to have her name memorialized by the public at large and she has been forgotten before anyone ever bothered to find out who she was. What was it about this case that was not cause for such an indelible impression upon the community? What was it about this case that the talking heads who love to regurgitate and twist the facts of high profile cases did not opine? Where were the people who squawked about justice for a child they did not know when Olivia Madison Garcia left this world at the tender age of one-year old?
Her godmother, Amanda Brumfield, the woman who was charged with her death is the estranged daughter of Billy Bob Thornton, but little Olivia didn’t make the nightly news or have Nancy Disgrace crowing about her death. She died in relative obscurity and her killer has moved on with her life while the world shits their pants over Casey Anthony’s not guilty verdict because it wasn’t fair. Our legal system did what it was supposed to do. This case was based on largely circumstantial evidence and the jury did what they were instructed to do. I would now hope that all of the dirty pigs who have harassed the Anthony family for three years let them be. Right or wrong – it was not for us as private citizens to judge or to convict Casey Anthony of a crime. Our legal system provides that we are INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY beyond any and all of a shadow of a reasonable doubt.
Whether we believe she was guilty or not – this jury did what they were commissioned to do.

On December 3 1957 at around 6:15 PM, seven-year old, Maria Ridulph, was playing at the intersection of Archie and Center Cross Streets with her friend, Cathy Sigman. Both girls lived in Sycamore, Illinois a tiny community that shadows Chicago some 50 miles to the west. It is a sleepy, little town and the main street to this day is lined with “painted ladies” style Victorian houses, and dropped against miles and miles of cornfields in the background. Not much has changed in Sycamore, except for the passage of time. The children grew up and moved away; parents aged and passed away and the cycle of life continued except for Maria. Her skeletal remains were found over 100 miles away in Jo Davies county by a couple who were mushrooming that April.
For 54 years Maria Ridulph’s family mourned her loss and hoped that one day her killer would be identified. Cathy told police that a boy who identified himself as “Johnny” wearing a multi-colored sweater came into the yard and asked the girls if they wanted a piggy back ride. He then asked if they had dollies to play with and Maria ran inside to get hers. It was then that “Johnny” touched Cathy’s arms and thighs and she just felt that something was not right with the teen boy who they both knew. Cathy went home to get mittens because she was cold, and she never saw her friend again. Read the rest of this entry »

WOW! Cindy claims to have done the searches for chloroform. Her explanations are reasonable, and honestly for the past three years people have made assumptions about this case. Short and sweet on this entry — could this be the reasonable doubt the defense was looking for?

His name is not known nor who he belongs to. All that is known is where he was found. The boy’s body was found by a local resident of South Berwick, Maine along a lonely gravel road which connects Route 4 in South Berwick to Route 9 in North Berwick, Maine.
He was found fully clothed, wearing a Faded Glory-brand gray colored camouflage hooded sweatshirt, tan-colored khaki pants, a navy blue T-shirt with “Aviator Series” displayed on the front, and “Lightning McQueen” black sneakers. As of yet, no one has identified the child nor has anyone reported him missing. That’s what is very disturbing about this case. He was just dumped at the side of the road and left there.
Police also are looking for a navy blue Toyota Tacoma pickup truck that may be related to the case. It has an extended cab and a full cap over the bed. The truck has a white license plate, but the state is unknown.
Anyone with information on the boy’s identity or the pickup truck is asked to call Maine State Police in Gray, Maine, at (207) 657-3030.
