Children are supposed to be able to be children. It breaks my heart to hear of children gone missing who have met with foul play, or children that are abused by those they are entrusted to. Kids should be able to be just that: kids. Free to run like the wind, or daydream about being astronauts and statesmen. Sometimes this isn’t how their little lives are at all, and they are exploited by adults or abused by them. Stopping these predators is something that we should all be involved in. That’s what I want to write about today. I don’t want to make this sound too clinical, because this issue is not something that we should take lightly. I hope that I can bring some awareness about “Uncle Dirty”, as I call pedos.
I detest child abusers. I’m not talking about those who beat their kids rearend, or lay a hand on them; I’m talking about those cretins that sexually abuse children. I LOATHE those individuals. I find child predators and sex offenders repulsive and not worthy to breathe the same air that I breathe. They are the scum of the earth, and will never have my sympathy, empathy or compassion. They are lower than dirt and I feel that I should not have to share my Earth with them. Pedophiles bring the bile forth in the back of my throat. It is with great disgust that I even acknowledge that they are out there, and they will harm your children if you don’t take proper measures.
So, what is a pedophile? It’s not the dirty old man in the corner of the men’s bathroom at the local theater, or the creepy guy in the neighborhood that everyone avoids like the plague. Pedophiles are your friends, your neighbors, and your political representatives. They are everywhere. The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fourth Edition, describes a pedophile as
an individual who fantasizes about, is sexually aroused by, or experiences sexual urges toward prepubescent children (generally <13 years) for a period of at least 6 months. Pedophiles are either severely distressed by these sexual urges, experience interpersonal difficulties because of them, or act on them.
Have a seat over there.
With the internet and shows like To Catch A Predator, these mediums have exposed a side that many did not want to know existed. It’s there, and it’s in our face! It is up to us to recognize the face of “Uncle Dirty”, and to educate our children to the dangers of not only online predators, but those that are hiding in plain sight.
It’s very important for us to make sure that our children know about the dangers of internet predators, as well as those that hide in plain sight. The people who abuse our children are more often than not the very people they put their complete trust in. Often little league coaches, girl scout leaders, Sunday school teachers and sadly parents. Teachers and loving, dedicated parents teach “stranger danger”. Sadly, that does not cover these trusted individuals.
Children will defend their sexual predators to a fault either through love, fear or a combination of the two. Pedophiles are masters at grooming their victims. They gain the trust of the parents of their would be victim and are then given full access to the child. Grooming is described as : The deliberate actions taken by an adult to form a trusting relationship with a child, with the intent of later having sexual contact, is known as child grooming. The act of grooming a child sexually may include activities that are legal in and of themselves, but later lead to sexual contact. Typically, this is done to gain the child’s trust as well as the trust of those responsible for the child’s well-being.
Pedophiles are expert manipulators and will do anything to get close to children. We have all heard about the coaches or Boy Scout leaders who have been arrested for sexual impropriety. It’s not only men who do these things. It’s women as well. We hear about teachers who act inappropriately with their students. They also have the access and capability to groom.
It is important that parents know how sex offenders will try to get close to their children. I will point out these ways that sex offenders groom children.
Examples of activities sometimes used as part of child grooming are set forth as follows.
- Taking an undue interest in someone’s child (having a “special” friend)
- Giving gifts or money to the child for no apparent reason
- Showing pornography to the child (illegal in many jurisdictions)
- Talking about sexual topics that are not age-appropriate
- Invading the child’s privacy (e.g. walking in on him/her in the bathroom)
- Hugging, kissing, or other physical contact even when the child does not want this attention
- Allowing the child to get away with inappropriate behavior
- Talking to the child about problems that would normally be discussed with adults (e.g. marital problems)
I guess my main reason for writing this is to say be safe. There are terrible people out there and they ingratiate themselves into our lives to get close to our kids. I was going to do this under a pseudonym because the collateral damage regarding this is far reaching. It was brought to my attention that there is a sex offender on Websleuths, and she is an admin. She was charged with four counts of lewd and lascivious behavior. She plead no contest to two and two were dropped. Her husband, however, was sentenced to 15 years on multiple cases of sex offenses and child battery. The links are in the first comment that Lovey posted. I honestly felt rotten for having to bring this to light, but she is a SEX OFFENDER, who has access to children and victims’ families. Websleuths would sleuth someone in a New York minute, and rather than keep the information hidden, it was decided to make it public.
I apologize for anyone that was hurt by this, but this is real. And I still hate sex offenders.

My first completely unrelated thought is why do you and your kind have to CAPLOCK ALL THE TIME? It really makes the underlying issues you have simmering through your soul quite apparent, as seen in your everyday posting. Just an observation.

Mark Hackings brothers were a perfect example; they knew Mark was guilty of murdering Lori, they stated he must be held accountable, but they did love their brother. They were, in a word, GRACIOUS. I’ve been reading Stankerbell’s threats against Princess and others here -- yet, I have not read anything from her that gives an explanation as to the situation, why her sister plead guilty if she indeed was not guilty, etc…. Instead, she has just gone on the attack big-time. Methinks you are just blowing off hot, foul air because you truly have no defense here. Let’s see why would Windslim would plea guilty. Hubby was jailed for 15 years. Could it be that if she plead guilty and testified against her husband that she would get a lighter sentence perhaps no jail time.. and probabtion (she should be in permanent sex offender database and if not we must see she is put there….. Ya think. ) Sure she caught a deal by ratting her husband out. (It also would have been expensive for the State of Florida to keep her in Twinkies) WindSlim has no excuse she was a participant in the situation and had knowledge of it and I’m sure other past episodes of ped behavior and activities. Perhaps the courts didn’t put the kids through the grilling and embarassment they would have had to face in court on witness stand. I don’t know how they would have handled this in 1992?

Interesting. This validates my thoughts of websleuths in general. Tricia to me seems very hostile, egotistical, and in short: unstable.
I have been a long time member there, but find often when I post an opposing view, I strangely get “timed out”. I used to ask why that was, then gave up. My view is that if you do not kiss ass there and go with the status quo, you get banned. There’s something wrong with that version of management.
I own a website that is quite active, and we pride ourselves on allowing people to post their opinions without fear of reprisal. We do not allow harassment, but neither do we magically make posts disappear when it seems too “sensitive”.
There is a fine line between following rules and totalitarianism, and WS is a totalitarian state.
Why makes it all the more humorous when information like this about Windchime leaks out. The holier than thou have feet of clay eh?
And my bets are on that Tricia knew ALL about this beforehand, but had NO plans on saying anything until she had no choice.
And though I feel that the information should be dealt with, I have great issues with Tricia’s announcement of it on WS. It was cold, plain and simple.
By all means sack the woman, inform the community that she has been released from obligation, but just throwing her dirty laundry out there smacks of petty immaturity.
