I learned today that Sean Krause from thedailybs has passed away. I didn’t know Sean as well as some others did, but had assisted him, along with Mono from MMAC when Sean did his piece on the fake charity “Lighting the Way Home“. His site is not coming up, but you can read the archived version at the link. That article is indicative of how Sean handled all of his investigative reports. He just flat out called you out. Done. He didn’t beat around the bush, nor did he back down. Sean was a bulldog in that respect.
I think that’s what made him a rebel in the true crime blogosphere. He held fast to his beliefs and if you didn’t like them, well…go read Disney. LOL There aren’t enough cuss words in the vocabulary to describe his loathing of anyone who hurt a child.   ÂÂ
He will be missed. It is also times like these that make us question our own mortality. Life is short, and much too short for others. Death forces us to think about our own lives and the legacy that we hope to leave behind. So today, rather than question why he was taken so soon, I have a request for my readers.  I’m asking that everyone do something nice today to honor Sean.  It doesn’t matter what it is as long as it makes you feel good. This is the way we should continue to honor Sean’s memory – to continue doing good and helping those who are unable to help themselves.

Cancer is the ultimate nightmare. It takes a unbelievably hard toll on the person as well as everyone around them. To watch someone you love fight a battle with cancer, is monstrous.
Sean spared his readers that side of his life. In death, he deserves great respect because he didn’t demand or even request sympathy from anyone. He made a positive impact in the crime community and fought bravely. I enjoyed reading his site. I enjoyed the controversy. I enjoyed the impact he was making and the awareness he raised.
Every true crime writer brings their own perspective to the table and that uniqueness is something I appreciate in the crime blogging community. I’m with blaize, a life taken way too early. My condolences to his family and friends.

RAGIannie, our thoughts an peayers are with you during this time. Your kid brother was awesome and that should heal some of your pain to now how well respected and loved he was by so very many who had never met him.
Princess led many of us to Sean’s site, she was was always one of his biggest supporters and admired his grit.

My deepest sympathies to Sean’s family and friends. He and I always didn’t see eye to eye, and we even argued at times, but I have to admit he kept this old lady on her toes. His admiration of his family and David Lohr, his “Uncle”, was amazing and should always be held in the utmost awe of how and who he was. I believe in time, he would have made a much bigger mark on the world of online crime writing. Rest in Peace Sean.

The intensity and integrity that Sean allowed to flow from his heart and into his writings and words will be forever a part of the legacy he has left to us.
That he could invoke such a fire with his words, and follow them thru with such a passion towards the truth are just some of the traits that made him so remarkable of a man.
Sean never let his illness, nor the stigma that having cancer creates on those of us who fight this fucked up disease influence his work. It was just a battle, and not the war.
Instead he spent his effort and energies in bringing the light of truth to bear on the injustices and abused he encountered. He tempered it all with his own humor and unique style.
The bravery and courage he showed are something to aspire to, and all who were touched by his spirit are blessed by the spark that was Sean.
Thank you for your ‘spit and fire’ and the laughter you shared with us Sean!
I pray for many blessings and strength for his family, friends and those who appreciated his writings during this time of his passing from us.

Sean will be truly missed. He wrote with a passion, and he meant what he wrote. He despised people that hurt children, and the ones that killed children he hated even more. When picture Sean in Heaven I see a whole lot of kids hanging on him, grateful for his words to put their story out. If Sean could have rid this world of evil using his virtual ‘pen’, we would have so much less crime right now. What he did was help get justice for those who could not get his on. His spirit will live on, his memory will not just fade away. His passion was too strong top just fade away-he fired up many others! Rest with the angels and the children Sean-you will be missed.

I am so shocked to hear this. I knew there was something wrong because the site hadn’t been updated, and recently had been down. He was an advocate for kids and a terror to those who would abuse them.
RIP Sean
