William M******h, also known as “Murt” on the internet among true crime forums and true crime communities is known to insert himself surreptitiously into missing children cases. Mr. M******h, hereinafter, “Murt” then goes onto stream live video of the incident, and attempts to gain access to the families of the missing. Murt is NOT a journalist, however he claims to be a member of the press and refers to himself as “new media”. Murt has used the tragedy of others to seek monetary gain from those who follow him. He may not ask specifically for items, but he preys on the emotions of those who are following particular cases to provide him with hotel stays, dinners, tires for his vehicle, and other donations be they money or gift/merchandise cards.

In August 2006, Trenton Duckett went missing from his Orlando home. This was the first time that Murt became known to the internet true crime community. Murt became heavily involved in the Duckett case, so much so that he pinged law enforcement’s radar. Murt stated that something was going to happen on January 12, 2007 and Trenton would be brought home. Had he only boasted of this on the internet would have been one thing, but the fact that he developed relationships with the Duckett family and shared this information with them is quite another. Murt told the Duckett family that he was a US Marshall and that he had performed a forensic study of Josh Duckett’s computer. He played on their emotions in an attempt to insert himself into the case and be a part of it. Murt also went to the Vietnamese Festival and took several candid shots of little Vietnamese boys, and a Vietnamese Beauty Queen and stated that this woman was responsible for taking Trenton.

Murt told many lies during the Duckett case, but at the time it was only done on internet message boards and it was fairly easy to keep him contained online. Fast forward 2 years to Orlando, Florida on July 15, 2008. Caylee Anthony’s grandmother reported her missing in a 911 call. The nation was awestruck by the fact that a little girl had been missing for 30-days but her mother failed to notify law enforcement.

By this time, Murt had technologically advanced his interest in media and had converted an old news van to suit his needs. He was now a man on the move with his news van equipped with a mast and cameras and a dashboard cam that he was able to use while on the go. Murt and 2,500 viewers on his ustream.tv channel were watching the search of Jaye Blanchard Park for Caylee Marie Anthony’s remains. It was at this time that Murt’s friends, Lois Peter and Terri Stipp, accosted the Anthony family for showing up at the park and became belligerent by screaming in their faces, and were heard on video pumping each other up to fight Cindy Anthony.

Murt has and continues to slander members of several websites who are attempting to make the truth about him known. He posted this on his ustream.tv site:

THE SMEAR CAMPIGN AGAINST ME IS GETTING WAY OUT OF HAND. MORE AND MORE OF THE LIES OF MONOXIDE AND BEACONHELL AS WELL AS THE DAILY BS. ARE BEING SPREAD. PEOPLE ARE FLOODING MY BROADCAST SITE WITH DESPICABLE POSTS AND HAVE CAUSED ME TO SUSPEND BROADCASTS HERE. IT COSTS ME MONEY TO BROADCAST THE STREAMS AND I AM NOT GENERATING ANY INCOME IN DOING SO. THESE PEOPLE APPARENTLY WANT ME OFF THE AIR AND THEY MAY JUST GET THEIR WISH. UNLESS SOMETHING IS DONE TO EXPOSE THOSE BEHIND THESE SMEARS FOR WHAT THEY ARE AND THIS NONSENSE STOPS, I WILL BE FORCED TO SHUT DOWN.

Murt has sat in front of the Anthony home on Hopespring Drive on several occasions to film their comings and goings for the members in his MURTWITNESSONE Paltalk Chat Room. Murt took his “chatters” on “road trips” to the crime scene where Caylee Anthony was found and it was treated as though they were going to the circus, as the members in his chatroom hooted and hollered along the way, not realizing the true somberness of the experience. They were going to the place where a child was tossed away like garbage. These people treat tragedy as if it is a field trip. We, as concerned citizens, are very concerned that Murt will begin his web cam “road trips” to the Cummings home and elsewhere and may impede the investigation. Murt has also stated that he was close enough to Casey Anthony’s car in the forensic garage, and there was grave concern that he would taint the proceedings in the case against Ms. Anthony with his exaggerations.

Murt has even gone so far as to fake his suicide online to garner sympathy from his followers. Murt accused someone of killing his cat, Justice. He stated that this woman came to his home and left a bowl filled with antifreeze. When it was reported to Murt that antifreeze takes approximately 12-36 hours after ingestion to kill an animal, he stated that it was a cheeseburger laden with rat poison. When it was pointed out that rat poison will only make them very sick now, he stated that it was an “old brand” and killed Justice dead. He stated that the cat was to have an “autopsy” performed. Later when questioned if he would provide the details of the necropsy, he stated that his scanner had broken and it would cost $1,000.00 to fix, and he did not have the money at this time to have it repaired. Murt has a pattern of having technical malfunctions when asked to provide proof of some of his mishaps.

At the time of Murt’s “fake suicide” he alleged that agents from the FBI were at his home and instructed him to fake his own suicide so they could catch the “hackers”. Murt also stated that they had installed a “black box” on his computer that he could flip a switch and be in contact with them immediately. He said this box allowed them remote access to his computer. On the date of his “suicide” attempt, Murt stated that the agents mirrored his computer hard drive to retrieve information about the hackers.

Murt admits to faking suicide attempt and that the FBI was NOT there. Murt had faked his suicide online to his members and later said that the hackers made him do it. Members of another forum were actually concerned for Murt and requested that his local police do a wellness check on him, at which time it was found that he was fine and had engaged in this “fake suicide” to get the “hackers” to leave him alone. A normal person of his age generally does not engage in this sort of behavior. Copies of the police report are also available.

Murt has also stated online in a private message with Josh Melton of Mixed Martial Arts Central that he is the person who killed Trenton Duckett, and that he is attracted to toddlers. Please see the links below for screen captures of these electronic conversations. Murt further stated in the chats that he was attracted to toddlers. Being that his interests in missing children involves an age range of 2-5, the comments are even more alarming.

He also has a “news van” marked “MURTWITNESSONE.COM” Murt uses the van as a way to get closer to missing children’s cases, and search areas under the guise of being “media”. We are a group of concerned private citizens who have watched Murt profit from missing children cases in the past, and this information is not provided as a way to harass Mr. M******h, but to protect the families of missing children from his predatory ways, as well as to keep Murt from interfering in the investigations of missing children.
