Date: January 20, 2010

On January 20, 2010, investigators from the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, Florida Department of Law Enforcement, HIDTA Tri-County Drug Task Force, and the Office of the State Attorney, 7th Judicial Circuit, concluded a month-long undercover operation with the arrest of four (4) Satsuma residents and one (1) individual from Orlando for trafficking in controlled prescription medications.

During the operation, investigators made several purchases of Oxycodone and Hydrocodone medications from these individuals. Ronald Lemyles Cummings, Misty Janette Croslin, Hank Thomas “Tommy” Croslin Jr., Hope A. Sykes, and Orlando resident Donna Broch, were arrested and charged with trafficking in controlled prescription medications. If convicted as charged, Ronald Cummings, Misty Cummings, and Donna Broch, could receive a minimum mandatory sentence of twenty-five (25) years in state prison. If convicted, the other individuals can receive minimum sentences ranging from three (3) years to fifteen (15) years in state prison. An undercover Putnam County Sheriff’s Office Detective purchased large quantities of prescription medications from this group on seven (7) separate occasions. The estimated street value of prescription drugs seized is $3,900.00.

Today, the second phase of the operation was concluded. Ronald Cummings and Misty Croslin purchased trafficking amounts of prescription medications from undercover investigators. Both individuals were immediately arrested and taken into custody without incident. The other individuals were arrested on active arrest warrants resulting from this investigation. The following list details the charges and bonds for the subjects involved in this case:

Misty Janette Croslin, DOB: 12/09/1991 –
Six (6) Counts of trafficking in Prescription Medications (Bond – $950,000.00)

Ronald Lemyles Cummings, DOB: 10/29/1983 –
Three (3) Counts of Trafficking in Prescription Medications (Bond – $500,000.00)

Hank “Tommy” Croslin Jr., DOB: 08/02/1986 –
One (1) Count of Trafficking in Prescription Medications (Bond – $100,000.00)

Hope A. Sykes, DOB: 03/24/1991 – One (1) Count of Trafficking in Prescription Medications (Bond – $150,000)

(Photo Not Available) Donna Broch – One (1) Count of Trafficking in Prescription Medications (Bond – $250,000.00)

This operation was in response to the growing problem of the illegal sale and distribution of prescription drugs within Putnam County and surrounding areas. Prescription drug abuse is rapidly on the rise in Putnam County, and is one of the toughest crimes for law enforcement to combat. Most dealers are merchants of their own addiction, and sell these prescription medications to simply support their own habit.

Information was obtained that these individuals were unlawfully selling prescription medications in the community. Sheriff Hardy assigned detectives from the Drug/Vice Unit to the investigation. An undercover Putnam County Detective infiltrated this group, gaining the trust of these drug dealers.

Sheriff Hardy acknowledges the rise in prescription medication crimes in our community, and understands that this is a precursor to many other crimes affecting our citizens. He has instructed his investigators to not only aggressively pursue the subjects who are illegally selling prescription medications, but also the individuals who are unlawfully possessing and using these highly addictive drugs.

As stated in previous releases, investigators assigned to the Haleigh Cummings investigation will take every available opportunity to speak with any individual believed to have knowledge about Haleigh Cummings’ disappearance.

I am assuming that this is also a relative of Ronald’s.

  • NanaNC

Donna Broch the lady from TES? The power of addiction is stronger than any individual can control.

Will we now have the answer to this beautiful missing child Haleigh? Will justice finally be carried out for her?

Let us hope in the coming days that clarity will reach into the souls of one of these individuals for the truth.

  • SheWolfRocks

Honestly, this bunch has to be stuck on stupid! Do they not remember that they are all involved one way or another in the investigation of a missing child? I think there would be a strong likelyhood that the police would be keeping an eye on them! Geesh, well at the very least this might give one of them a push to tell the truth or at least what they know about Haleigh’s disappearance.

  • tval

It is so sad what drugs can do to ruin someones life. But maybe we WILL get some answers now on Haleigh.

    • You’re not kidding how they ruin lives. I’m watching Celebrity Rehab and people who had the world at their feet have NOTHING now because of their addictions. I just don’t get it. I do hope they get desperate for a fix and start talking.

  • Christine

Have these dummies totally forgotten that a child has been missing for almost a year? Have they not known that LE is keeping a close eye on everyone of them? OR have drugs clouded their vision?

Now tht they are under lock & key, let’s hope that one will break and give LE something to go on regarding Haleigh.
If none of them speak….they will be shackled for a long time before seeing the light of day.

What about Haleigh’s brother, Jr.? Who is now taking care of that child?
Any chances of Ron taking over his care……..has gone out the window with his arrest.

  • Carol

Wherever Haleigh is, if she’s alive, I hope she doesn’t hear this on TV.
I really hope someone talks now.

  • cheryl

This could be a smart move on the LE’s part. Even if noone cracks and gives up the information on Haleigh’s “disappearance”, they still have them on the felony drug charges. (which is something) I still hope and pray that the truth comes out. That little girl deserves it.

  • AngelinFl

Can the media request and play their jail visits (except of course visits by their attornies) just like in the Anthony case. THat might give us even more insight to the dynamics of this family. I bet you on those visits there will be No Ms. Nancy or Yes Ms. Nancy’s heard!

And Misty doesn’t need the public defender… she has an attorney. What attention seeking liar is going to be defending and standing up for her. So many people need a lawyer for legitimate reasons but can’t afford one and legal aide won’t help …. how does Misty rate private representation from other than a media whore?

  • Christine

When asked by the Judge if Misty had a lawyer, she stated that she does.

Lawyers do not come cheap by any stretch of the imagination….so where is the money coming from to pay a laywer? Could it be from drug sales?

I hope they all stay right where they are….in different jails.
Grill them 24/7 so that they sing like canaries…..and tell us what they
know about where Haleigh is now…..Jr. needs his sister home with him.

    Haleigh needs Justice. (L) (L)

  • WisedUpRealFast

I heard earlier that the custody of “Junior”, Haleigh’s little brother, was awarded on an emergency order to his and Haleigh’s bio-mom. Not sure how I feel about that, given her own past drug abuse history.

I’m wondering if maybe the jail should open a special wing just for the Cummings/Croslin clan. UGH!!!!

    WHERE IS HALEIGH?????????????

  • WolfmanJack

The whole family is just plain old white trash. Any kids they have should be in foster homes. Yes, they will start talking now but only to save their own sorry hides, not in the interest of Haleigh.

  • Hey… You in Satsuma! … PLEASE STEP OUT OF THE GENE POOL!

Let’s see who are the real dealers now and who are in on this sting. I’m bothered by the smirk on 2 faces: Ron and Donna. Neither of them look bothered by this little inconvenience. I’m not up for judgment just yet. Sing little jail birdies..

What makes me angry about this, is that those drugs used correctly relieve pain with no addictive symptoms if properly prescribed. I blame doctors who over prescribe and giving pills to people who do not need them, causing the user to become an addict. Now even with stronger punishment for illegal sales it may start to stem the tide of doctors overly prescribing or incorrectly proscribing. If you haven’t had surgery you do not need to be on an oxy, there are alternatives.

These people have been dealing drugs possibly for years, and it looks like Misty is going to take the biggest fall, it looks like the PCSO can’t get the for the murder of that child, but are ensuring these dirtbags will spend many years behind bars for something else. I say good for them, but that child will never get the justice or even the truth about what happened to her, she’ll simply always be on missing posters in a kind of pergitory missing forever and never being brought home because the people charged with caring for her would rather let her be forgotten that admit what happened to her. Haleigh deserved so much better, and I think much of the blame sits on the shoulders of the person who allowed her to be in the home of a confidential informant, a criminal. I hope other agencies take a long hard look at Haleigh’s face when they leave a child in a home with a drug dealing parent and addict grandmother, no adult cared about those kids, least of all her father.

I’m glad the lot of them will be in prison for years, I think Ron may never leave prison what with his violent history and big mouth, maybe that really is going to be his death sentence. What kind of people know they are in the bullseye of the local cops and continue to deal drugs? The kind the police had been protecting is my guess.
