Where is Susan Powell?
The stories of missing wives lately seem neverending. Susan Powell has been missing from her West Valley City, Utah home since December 7th. On that night, her husband, Joshua Powell, says that he took their 2 and 4-year old sons to go “camping” in the family van at the Pony Express Trail. He alleges he went there at around 12:30 AM. Just a thought, but I don’t know too many people that take two very small children to hang out in the family van on a winter night. “Susan … would not have tolerated her children being taken out of the home after midnight to go camping in dangerously cold conditions,” Susan’s friend, Shelby Gifford said. I don’t know too many women that would have “tolerated” that – IF they were alive.
Susan Powell’s phone was found at home, along with her purse and keys. You really can’t go far without those items and what woman leaves the house without her purse? In the beginning, Susan’s family defended Josh Powell, but over the past week there has been a turn of the tides, so to speak and they are forced to acknowledge that things just aren’t adding up where Josh is concerned. There is still no sign of Susan and Susan’s father, Chuck Cox says that “Susan wasn’t one to go off quietly into the night. She isn’t some mousy little girl who is off hiding somewhere.” There has been no contact from Susan, and her father told reporters “If she could contact us, she certainly would. The idea that she was sleeping or getting ready for bed at 12:30 a.m. and [her husband] said ‘I’m leaving with the boys to go camping’ … I don’t think so. No way.”
The other red flag is the presence of wet spots in the home with fans blowing on them. Joshua Powell has refused to
answer questions, but witnesses have told law enforcement that on the day after Susan’s disappearance, Joshua had severely wind burned hands AND there is now the mystery of the rental car that Joshua Powell took on a journey for hundreds of miles after Susan’s disappearance. He’s also not saying WHERE he went. There is no GPS data for the car either. How convenient. Josh Powell rented the car during the 24-hour period that his van was in police custody.
Powell is not cooperating with police, and has lawyered up. Again, typical of these dirtbag husbands who decide to kill their wives rather than just get a divorce. I will never understand the logic. Life in prison for slaying their wives or a divorce. The latter sounds like it would be the better choice, but then these are men who are narcisstic s**twads who have control issues.
I hope Susan Powell is found alive, but my hopes are waning. I think Josh Powell is ultimately going to be charged with his wife’s death. His poor kids.

Her husband was a control freak, with few friends and she had talked to friends she was thinking of divorcing him. He decides to go camping at midnight on a Sunday without calling off work on Monday with two children, one a toddler. There were extra unexplained miles on the rental car, over 100 he can’t or won’t explain. It’s awful to think about the fact he probably killed his wife and his children went along for the ride with their mother’s body in the back of the SUV and he dumped or buried her body while the kids were in the car to young to know or understand what was happening.
I hope to God they are keeping him away from the kids because if the police look like they are coming to get him it’s highly likely he will kill them so they can all be in “heaven” together. If a man wants to control your life leave him – go far away because someday when he is done with you he very well may kill you rather than let you go. That’s what happened in this sad case. A selfish loner nobody likes was finally watching his life go out the door and rather than be a better man and person he killed the mother of his children.
