MISSING: Small Non-Caucasian Children
![]()
Have you seen them? Do you know who they are? I don’t want to sound like a b***h, but why haven’t these two children gotten as much media coverage as cute little Caylee Anthony and Haleigh Cummings? Tangena is 2-years old and lives in Detroit, Michigan with her mother and her mother’s boyfriend. Mom’s boyfriend, Jamrul Hussain, is the LAST person to see Tangena when he stopped at a gas station on the night of October 2nd, and left her in the car. He says when he came back, Tangena was gone. Tangena’s father does not believe that Tangena got out of the car or that someone took her.
Ahmed, 38, of New York said his ex-wife, Nilufa Begum, 24, was crying when she called him the night Tangena was reported abducted from the locked car of Begum’s boyfriend, Jamrul Hussain.
Still…did you know who Tangena was?  Did you know that she has been missing for 4 months? Her case certainly hasn’t been featured nightly on the major networks. Anyone with information should call Detroit police at 313-596-1240 or Crime Stoppers at 800-773-2587 (800-SPEAKUP). And how about little Adji Desir? Adji is a 6-year-old developmentally disabled from near Immokalee, Florida and has been missing since Saturday, Jan. 11, 2009. He was playing in his grandmother’s yard, and then just disappeared. His family if from Haiti and immigrated to the US. There is a language barrier as the parents do not speak English. Have you seen Adji’s picture on the nightly news? I’ve seen him a few times on Nancy Grace, and appreciate that she put his photo and information out there as other mainstream media outlets have not done so. Knowing that Adji only speaks a few words, and they aren’t English breaks my heart. His mother told the media through a translator that whoever has Adji to please “feed him” and make sure he is not hungry. How sad is that? Anyone with information about the case can call the Collier County Sheriff’s Office at 1-239-793-9300, the Tampa FBI office at 1-866-838-1153 or the Miami FBI office at 305-944-9101.
There is a HUGE discrepancy in the reporting of Caucasian versus African American missing persons. Damn me if you will, but it’s true. In fact, there is even a word for the media’s highlighting of attractive missing white women. It’s called “missing white woman syndrome“.  I generally don’t like to use wiki as a source, but they give a decent definition of it.
Missing White Woman Syndrome (MWWS) is a vernacular term for the disproportionately greater degree of coverage in television, radio, and print news reporting of a missing person case involving a young, attractive, middle or upper middle class white woman, compared with cases concerning a missing male, or missing persons of other races or classes.[1][2][3] The essential features of a missing person said to give rise to Missing White Woman Syndrome are sex,[4] race or ethnicity, social class, (relative) prettiness, and age. These features are said to provoke positive discrimination in the reporting as news of the disappearance of a young white woman, and so to increase public interest in her disappearance.
It breaks my heart that these two little ones, and many, many others both young and old who have gone missing, are not given the same amount of news coverage because of the color of their skin or their appearance. It shames me that the media would still be so discriminatory.
Please feel free to use the pic of Tangena and Adji, and please don’t forget about them. They deserve to be home with their mommies and daddies as much as little Haleigh does. Nite all and be well.

Thought I would put my 2cents in about Misty. IMO she is telling the truth, some have said she was on crack or meth, look at her skin and teeth, she has beautiful skin and clean white teeth. I have found most users have really nasty teeth (grey, falling out) and have many blisters or pimples on their skin from the drugs leaving the body. Also users will have really bad and dry hair, most times it will break off and split badly, I know these things from helping with the counselors in our community to stop meth use. It is very bad here and we want this drug taken completely off the streets.
Some have said that it is strange that she would wake up in the middle of the night. Maybe not on this blog but I have read these things, anyway if he had been getting home at this time every night it makes sense to me that on many “normal” nights he would probably wake her up to inquire about the kids or she would may even get up at that time to make him dinner. People working these hours have to change their schedules around, we all know this. I also noticed that the Mother of Haleigh acted very strange, she seemed to not know very much about her daughters’ school or the childs routine. Even if she is not the custodial parent I would think that she would know what her child does when she is not with her.
My heart goes out to the family of Haleigh and pray that they find her soon.
I felt the mother acted strangely the minute I saw her. Not because I felt she had anything with Haleigh’s disappearance though. She just seemed like one of those lazy deadbeat parents who has become disinterested in her children because it’s just easier.
I also believe Misty is not telling the truth but am not sure to what extent as of yet. Had not thought about the fact that the father did anything wrong except that he’s more than a little weird and immature.
What’s this about a gun?
The child’s body has been identified as 3 year old Dominick Arcenaux. Anyone who prays, please remember his family.
Sheriff: Body found identified as missing Ark. boy
It sounds like there is no clear sign of foul play; he may have wandered and fell in the water.

Yes, and that seemed to also extend to health issues – she said she didn’t know if Haleigh had been sick much. That question was in relation to her telling that when she had wanted to take the kids somewhere, Ronald had objected that if Haleigh missed more school he’d be put in jail. The interviewer asked if Haleigh had been sick, and Crystal said she didn’t know. I sure would want to stay informed about my kids’health, and especially if they had a chronic disease or condition as little Haleigh does (“Turner syndrome”).
From the interviews I have seen of her, I’m not going to assume that she would be as insistent as i think I would be at getting answers directly from Misty about who was sleeping where and asking LE what M. had told them. So considering that she herself said she forgot where she’d heard different versions of sleeping arrangements, I wouldn’t want to assume either of those was the source for alternate versions. Or assume that she remembered correctly what she had heard.
I realize that she is not used to public speaking or TV cameras and lights, and nobody is prepared for their child disappearing and we might not react the way we think we would. Not everyone cries when they’re basically in shock. And I might seem pretty vague too under these circumstances. Heck, I might be hardly able to remember my name!
Not sure this will be posted but I will go for it anyway. Has anyone noticed that the comments in “MISSING: Small Non-Caucasian Children” have now returned to a 5 year old white girl missing in Central Fla..? just sayin? Don’t know what the media is thinking? It is so sad.
Well, Domenick has been found (prayers and tears to his family), and I have not been able to find ANY new information on Tangena…I heard there is a child missing in Texas (last few days) but have not found info on that yet? What can we do to stop the disappearing of these small children? We have Amber-Alert and searchers ‘after the fact’-what can we do to prevent them from happening at all? I think mainly it keeps coming back to Haleigh, not because she is white, but because she is “current’-and because of the controversy of feelings on Misty-the people that believe she ‘knows something’, and the ones that believe she is simply a poor uneducated young girl being victimized…
Madge
I must applogize for not responding to the other missing children out there. I had been reading about Haleigh and that was what was fresh in my mind. Of course my heart and prayers go out to all the missing, abandoned and abused children out there and prayers to all the families. I have been trying to keep up with Adji especially because something about him just burns a hole in my heart, I suppose because of his disabilities. Maybe because the family has practically no idea how to relate to the media. To me he is very special and really needs an extra nightly prayer.
Once again sorry for getting off track Princess.
I am sorry that little Dominick was found deceased, and I hope the autopsy will prove that he simply drowned. Not that drowning is a good thing, but I don’t want foul play to be involved.
There is a 14-year-old girl named Amber LeeAnee Dubois who lives about 10-15 miles from me and has been missing since last Friday morning. Even though she is thought to have run away, her family says it would be totally out of character for her to do so. Six days later, LE is starting to think abduction, and we all know the statistics. The NCMEC is looking into taking the case national, but since she doesn’t fall within the category of young, white and cute, she probably won’t get much coverage. Click on the link below and take a good look at her picture.

Want to know why so many children go missing. My day is a good example.
So often I am in waiting rooms and people with a butt load of kids come in, for some reason they think little granny lady in the corner wants to watch them, take them to the bathroom, make sure they don’t wander too far off. No one ever asks me they just plop them down and walk off with a watch my kids I need to ( fill in the blank).
I have no idea why people just automatically think I want to watch their kids.
I was at car lot today having my car fixed. 8 hours of hell.
After the third set of brats were unloaded on me I taught them a nice new prayer to show mommy tonight. It started Hail Satan great dark lord.
Okay that was really mean but they were really horror kids. And hopefully mommy learned a lesson.
My point is in 8 hours three people dumped their kids on me and left the building.
I had never met any of them in my life. I bet if a pedo had been sitting there he could have gotten a lot of really good info.
People really do not watch their kids close enough. Parents still in this day and age with all the info out there take too many chances.
We were mere feet from a major highway. Right out the door next to the waiting area was a street were half a block back became a over grown residential area.
There is no way in the world I would have left my kids there.
Dance, while the way you tell it, it is very funny. Unfortunately, I see these same things happening and it is not funny at all. You can bet I will remember the “prayer” you told those kids. LOL
Your right Selene it’s not funny, but it happens way too often. It’s sad enough when children go missing in ways that could not have been prevented, it’s beyond terrible when parents treat their kids like thy have no value.
re captcha million 100 lol on my way out to buy a lotto ticket.
